Sew eight Vintage Pink Christmas coasters from a premium cotton fabric panel featuring four coordinating prints: Pattern 1 Santa and florals (four fronts), Pattern 8 candy canes and pink stripes (two), Pattern 10 bows and holly (one), and Pattern 12 pink snowflakes (one).
Panel and finished size
- Printed panel: 43 x 9 inches, including detachable sewing and materials instructions.
- Yield: eight printed coaster fronts.
- Cut size: 5 x 5 inches per front, including 1/4-inch seam allowance.
- Finished size: approximately 4-1/2 inches square; sewing, batting loft and quilting affect final dimensions.
Sew, turn and topstitch
Layer each printed front with customer-supplied cotton backing and low-loft cotton batting. Sew a 1/4-inch seam, leave an opening, turn, press and topstitch. Add light quilting as desired. The main method needs no separate binding; the guide also explains an optional bound-edge approach.
You supply
One cotton backing fat quarter at least 18 x 21 inches, or 1/4 yard with at least 40 inches usable width; at least 20 x 10 inches of low-loft cotton batting; coordinating thread and usual sewing tools. Backing, batting, thread and optional binding are not included. This is a fabric sewing panel, not finished coasters.
